Beauty Unboxing: Birchbox February 2015

I have always wanted to try a beauty subscription box. However, the UK don't (or at least in my opinion) have as good as a selection as other countries. So last week I sat down and researched all the companies that would ship to me, and I settled on Birchbox.*

I'm not really 100% sure why I picked Birchbox, maybe the fact that you can buy all the full size products on their website or maybe just because they were offering a few products that I would have liked to try in this month's box!

Whatever the reason, I'm glad I finally took the plunge and picked a subscription! So let's dive right into the unboxing! How exciting!

This is how the box arrived. I love how it was entitled "The Wonderful Nicole Blake". When that's one of the first things you see in a morning, it doesn't half put a smile on your face!

After opening the lovely purple outer box that matched my bedding, the actual box was revealed. And to be honest with you, it was quite smaller than expected. I'm not sure why, but I thought the box would be bigger.

The first thing I saw when I opened the box was the cute cards that explain what's inside your box, how to use the products and tips and tricks.

I thought this was super handy and it was styled so nicely as well.

It's just so cute!

And funny!

Next, there was a bag! Another thing which I wasn't expecting! This makes the box feel a whole lot more luxurious.

Open it up and everything is there!! This was so exciting to FINALLY open it up, as I was taking pictures as I went and even uploaded the first photo to Instagram before I saw what was inside!

So the first thing that I pulled out was the London Butterflies Whipped Body Cream. At first I was so excited about this, as I have an obsession for moisturisers at the minute, so I was looking forward to trying it. However I opened it, and realised that it was scented with jasmine, which I cannot stand! I may just use this to see how the actual formula works though, as it seems really nice.

Also, I need to add that the packaging it really nice. The jar is glass and the lid is metal. Seeing as it's a sample size I was expecting plastic containers.

The next product I pulled out is the one that I am most excited about - The Balm's Stainiac! I have been wanting to try products from The Balm recently, so when I saw this I was very happy! I'm not all that into lip and cheek stains, but after using one from The Body Shop (haul coming soon) that I really loved, I'm looking forward to trying this out.

This is another product that I'm excited to try. Caudalie Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting. I will always, forever be on a mission to achieve flawless skin, so this seems to be a great product to try to get there. However I'm scared that if I do like this, I will never buy it, as it comes with a pretty hefty price tag of £45. I also felt that this sample size was quite small, with only 10ml and the bottle feeling half empty. But with a product this price, I don't suppose you will be wanting to give it away willy-nilly.

I then pulled out an Agave oil hair treatment. I have been thinking about trying one of these for a while, but have been too lazy to properly research it, so looking forward to trying this out. I have really dry, curly hair, so this will hopefully be good for it!

Yet ANOTHER product I was so excited to see in the box - Vita Coco Coconut Oil. This is something I have wanted to try out for ages, but never wanted to buy in case it didn't work, or I didn't use it. On one of the leaflets in the box, it listed a number of ways that you could use it, and I never knew there were than many ways you could use it!

And last but not least, there was a Cynthia Rowley eyeliner in Black. Now I don't actually own a black eyeliner pencil, so this, for me was a good thing to receive in my box. However, there was also a Silver colour available.

And that, is everything I received in my Birchbox! I did get free shipping with this box with the code BBLOVES, so it's worth it to look out for codes like that. I actually saw that code on an advert on Youtube.

I really enjoyed the box this month, so I will be getting next month's too, so look out for that unboxing at the end of March. I am also thinking about signing up to Glossy Box and possibly doing a comparison of the two. Let me know in the comments if this is something that you would be interested in!

Thanks for reading!
